We have a brief business meeting followed by a guest speaker on relevant topics. We’ll then continue with an open community discussion about the problems facing our community as it is gripped by the opioid pandemic and look at solutions that might be pursued.

This community meeting and conversation will be held in the library at Ichabod Crane Senior High School on Tuesday October 17th from 630pm to 730pm.

Adam O’Brien, LMHC, CASAC, EAS-C is a mental health and SUD clinician. Adam will provide information on how addiction can stem from the family unit, early warning signs of addiction, and ways families can support recovery. The O’Brien family will be in attendance and will support by sharing their experiences with the process of addiction and recovery.

Adam is a local therapist, educator, advocate, and person in long-term recovery. He blends his personal experience with clinical knowledge to help support providers, families and communities better understand addiction and recovery. In an effort to advocate for more trauma-focused approach to treating addiction, he openly shares his experiences to help de-stigmatize and normalize addiction.
